More new guy questions, hour meter hookup

I have a MF 35 not sure what year but I am guessing early 60's Its a gas powered 4 cylinder. My problem is some yahoo disconnected the hour meter. Its a big clock looking thing that appears to be a tachometer also. I see the cable coming from the dash but have no idea where it hooks up on the engine. The cable is not that long so I figure it has to be kinda close but I don't see any place that it should hook up. Owners manual has been ordered but I just can't wait anybody know where this little sucker hooks up?

I'am not real sure but on my MF175 the cable goes into the back of the Generator.Yes mine still has a Generator on it and at the back end there's kinda a Gear box where the cable goes into.Soo not sure if the 35s had the same set up or not.[Did some one change your Gen to a alternator or what????. Larry

Yes it has been converted to 12 volt, Hadn't thought about that. But the cable does not look to be that long.

The tach cable is mechanical. I think it fits onto the end of the camshaft. Hard to see in there.
