got a call from Terry this morning.........they opened the pump and found that the bolts holding the piston that regulates the flow for forward and reverse had come off.......rest of the pump was fine.....so a relatively cheap fix and it's on its way back. I did ask him if he thought I should replace the hydraulic fluid and he said it wasn't necessary. Can't wait for the fun of putting it all back together again.....haha

Well that's good to hear. Supposed to be very cold the next week. But not supposed to snow much here.

You will have spent more time taking it off and putting it back on than what it took them to fix it.:(

Oh that goes without saying....haha........it's the difference between them knowing what they are doing.......and me not knowing what I'm doing
I'm hoping it goes back together faster since I have learned a few things from taking it off....but I doubt it!

That's good to hear. I need to get back in business as I have a lot of bucket work to do......widen the drive way and clear a path to the propane tank so I can get a delivery.......the barns tank is running on fumes. Plus I really should dig out the mailbox.......but I'm going to be gun shy as every time the pt has broken it's been down there........just some bad mojo hanging around the end of the driveway....wonder if I need to have an exorcism performed down there

Stand by the mailbox, rest your arm on it, drink a beer and have a long talk with the mailbox. It will understand and you'll be all set. ;)

Got the pump back from power trac yesterday and spent last night and today getting it back on and all the hoses connected. I connected 2 of the hoses on the bottom first before I attached the pump to the motor mount....those were the ones that's impossible to get a wrench to. The only hose that gave me a real tough time was the line connected to the filter......there is just no play in that one. Topped up the hydraulic tank.......took about 5 quarts.......and bled the air out.....had one loose nut that needed tightening........and then I crossed my fingers and started it up.........and everything works! I'll give it a good workout tomorrow digging frozen snow banks and monday there calling for up to 15" of snow here so hopefully all goes well.

For any one on the fence about getting a pt and worried about not having dealer service available like the color trac's........this was a perfect example of that not needing to be an issue to prevent you from buying. If I can fix it then anyone can :) .......between having the help on this board and Terry on the phone theres no need for dealer service.........Jack
