Montana power lever

I have a Montana 49 HP. The lever that gives it the gas does not stay in place when released. How do I fix it.

I have a friend with the 4940, I might have to take a look at his. Most of them have a nut you can tighten under the dash that will hold the throttle in place. They usally have a rubber/plastic bushing of sorts. I've had an older case that would gradually slip down rpms on rougher ground till I tighten that bolt some.

Just to clarify are you talking about the foot pedal or the hand lever?
