The tracked JD doesn't care for mud when its pulling a load. It works quite well to run drain furrows but under heavy load it becomes impossible to steer. As a rule we keep it out of the rice fields. This tractor works great for 3pt hitch and general field work.

Looking to get into the wheat and rice business, can the same header/combine be used for both? What is a good all around machine to go with that's affordable dependable and get the job done? What accessories do I need to look for thanks

This has got to be the most interesting and informational thread that I've ever had the pleasure of reading on TBN.

I am very glad someone dug it up from 5 years ago and brought it back to the top.

I know absolutely nothing about super-large scale farming operations, so I am very intrigued by it all. If there were anything else that I could do in life, operating a farm such as this would be it.
