Hello all,
This evening i went to put the mower deck back on so i can cut the grass tomorrow. The issue im having is the rear links will not lower. i followed the book to the letter yet they are still in the up position. ive tried everything i can think off. i tried moving the adjustment from top to 0 a number of times (does it matter which way you turn it?), i even pulled the 3ph off thinking there may be some sort of interlock between the two.

thanks for helping a newbie out.... again

You may have to push down on the rear links or add weight to them.

Ditto as TXDON said................With the tractor motor off, hold the 3 pt lever in the down position with your right hand and push down on the closest lower link with you left foot.......I can't remember if the "lowering speed knob" can lock it so it won't go down.
Can you whistle "Dixie".:D That's the best i can recall when owning a BX

First, check to make sure the flow knob is open enough. It can restrict the flow to the point the empty arms (and hangers) will not lower at all. Second, no, it doesn't matter which way you turn the knob. It is just a round stepped cam that a lever pushes against. Top is right next to 0, but that step is large.

Having just attached mine last night, do the drive shaft first, then the hangers, and finally the front. I did it front, shaft, hangers and it was a pain.

Ditto RaydaKub, drive shaft then hangers then front to install and reverse to remove. Also open up the flow control knob then just press down on the 3 pt arms.

gave it a quick try again before work. engine off, forward on the control level and stepping on the link wasnt enough to make it move. think later ill just jack up theback of the mower and attach the links that way. Hopeing it is just new paint holding it up there.

Have you checked the flow control knob yet that was mentioned earlier? It's for controlling the speed the 3pt will lower, and if closed all the way it won't let it lower at all. You may have already checked that but just didn't mention it.

yes, sorry forgot to mention that since i had already set it wide open last night (counter clockwise looking at the sticker on the dial it seems the properway).

just tried again, i jacked up the chute side of the deck and tried to lower it again, still didnt budge...

going to call the dealer when i have a few minutes i guess.

resolved
well found the issue, there is what looks like a travel stop above the rear links for the mower deck, the right side arm had gone up past it and got caught. guess thats hand for keeping the up when the deck isnt on.

thanks for the advice all
