Mitsubishi R1500 problems

Got a 1960's Mitsubishi R1500, its a one cylinder diesel, dunno the type or model of the engine. My husband ran it hot and we lost some compression and we got through that and it ran good for a short time, then we set the valves and we have been experiencing white smoke and loss of power when at a high rpm. I was told it was an injector, causing to much diesel to get in the cylinder, b/c when you add more throttle there is a knocking sound, and thats when i lose power and the white smole pours out the muffler. Any ideas what may be wrong? Any ideas where i could get parts for this tractor?
