I am in the market for a gooseneck trailer and came across this for sale
Local Sales Network - all new gator mini gooseneck in somerset, KY #1731153 - Go LSN!
This is from Gatormade website. A MINI-GOOSENECK DESIGN WHICH ALLOWS THE TRAILER TO DISTRIBUTE WEIGHT DIFFERENTLY THAN A STANDARD BUMPER PULL TRAILER.
Is this marketing baloney or could there be any advantage over a regular bumper pull trailer?
I had always thought the advantage of the gooseneck was putting the tongue weight over the rear tires of the tow vehicle.
This mini gooseneck looks like it is putting the tongue weight in exactly the same place as a regular bumper pull trailer.
Anyone ever use one?

I think its made for flat bed trucks, not standard pickups. Its a specialty trailer.

But yes, you are right if it were hitched to the standard bumper hitch it would exert the same load as any similar sized bumper pull trailer.

Sorta agree with Chris on this. Looks like it'd go well on a 1 ton cab-chassis that often tow wedge trailers.

I don't see any info on just what the advantage is. Looks like it would work with any bumper pull hitch setup regardless of bed style.

Makes for nice dual jack placement. At first I was thinking this would be a good place to set a front end loader bucket down on but then I noticed those grab bars or whatever they are. That and you would not be able to get at the tool box once the bucket was secured.

Need more info.

I really think its a GN trailer to only be used with a Cab and Chassis truck. Would work great with a flat bed truck.

I have seen a boat trailer made this way. The low slung tongue as compared to a normal GN trailer allows for the boat to be loaded very forward in that particular case.

I think it is to low for that. Also notice the ball coupler placement, it would rub the floor of the bed with a standard GN ball.

If the load is placed on the trailer the same but the tongue is streched out then the pin weight will be less. That is if the extra weight of the stretched tongue isn't to great.

I see what you guys are saying. I did not look at the coupler close enough. I can not see why someone would spend the extra money on it? Just get a regular bumper pull.

Looks like a waist of time and money to me.
Until someone can explain why?

It obviously has a purpose or they wouldn't have built it.
