Re: Mike\'s tractor and welding projects

That's a bunch of nice welding projects. Congrats. I just took up welding this year and am still pretty much a beginner. I particularly liked your welding cart. ...shows lots of careful planning.

I put up a Clearspan (steel arch) barn last summer and I use a MIG welder so I do my welding indoors. Just finished building a steel dolly for the BH. Will take some pics and post eventually.

I have a bunch of welding projects lined up; next is a log splitter, after that a "tree getter" and eventually a larger double axle trailer to haul my B7800. I should be busy for a while. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Mike\'s tractor and welding projects

Nice cart you built there. Those wheels look like they will
work nice for rolling over varying terrain. Would like to add some of those to a welder of mine too.

Doing a search for "Mike_C" using the "Display name" option will result in a big list of Mike_C's many contributions to TBN.

Re: Mike\'s tractor and welding projects

Mike is certainly handy with a welding machine as his fine craftsmanship shows. While surfing the web, killing a little time, I came across his work and thought I would share it with everyone again. Now, if we could convince him to start production on the 3 in 1 implement (see attached) he could probably put a little extra money in his pocket. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: Mike\'s tractor and welding projects

I took the time to look at all the projects. VERY impressive and the projects show a lot of thought that went into each...as well as work. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice job!

Very nice, it looks like you could easily add a golf cart roof for a nice canopy. Just paint it Kubota colors /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Mike\'s tractor and welding projects

well guys I'm certainly flattered, but also a bit confused as to why CarlGlas would post my stuff again. Anyway, there won't be any new projects for some time. My wife just left me 5 days ago, and I'm too depressed to do much of anything.

Re: Mike\'s tractor and welding projects

Mike: I'm very sorry to hear that. As a veteran of two failed marriages (on the third try I appear so far to have gotten it right) I can attest that breakups always hurt plenty.

However, my own experiences have taught me that life WILL go on and you WILL be happy again in the future. You may need a bit of healing time, but it will work out.

Not to be flippant about it, but this is probably not the time to follow Pluto's advice to Flounder in Animal House:
Pluto: "My advice to you is to start drinking heavily..."
Hoover: "...better listen to him, Flounder, he's 'pre-med.'"

Cheer up; something good always happens when you are least expecting it.....

Re: Mike\'s tractor and welding projects

Mike: Sorry to hear that you are going thru some troubling times. I've also gone thru two failed marriages....certainly going to think long & hard about doing it again. I think if I took as much time selecting my wife(s) as I have when selecting a tractor....well, I still am shopping for the ultimate tractor. I only want to do it once...probably should have taken that attitude when selecting a wife...and I'd probably had my tractor by now.

My second wife thought that the grass was greener on the other side of the fence and left me as well. That was a few years ago. Now she is wanting to make ammends. Let me tell you that's not going to happen.

I lost two faithful companions after she left me. I got to keep the two Scottie's and they were my life until cancer took them both within 6 months. Like another member said...time will heal the wounds. Just hang in there...you're in good company with the folks here at TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mike, I am certainly sorry to hear of the current situation, but having been through a couple myself all I can tell you is to hang in there brother.

About your photodocumentary, well, while surfing the web
I came across your project on another site and was really impressed. I thought it was quite good and was merely sharing it with newbies like myself that didn't have the opportunity to see it the first time it was posted and or haven't found it located deep within the bowels of TBN files.

Actually, it wasn't until after I had posted it to the list that I realized you were a member of the TBN family. I recognized your baby-faced mug. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyway, I just want you to know that if at anytime you'd like someone to talk to, we are here for you.

Best wishes always...

Re: Mike\'s tractor and welding projects

Okay Mike, it'll git better. I've had 3 wife and as many fairly long relationships. Anyway git in there and stay busy tinkering. My last girlfriend left saying I liked tractor work morin' her. Well, she was right. She wanted back, but, I'm still busy fixin and buildin'. I got grandkids to keep me busy watching whatever there doin' now. We're guys, whatta they exect? bjr

Re: Mike\'s tractor and welding projects

I'm no counselor and I know things are easier said than done but as I see in these posts we all go thru life, good, bad, or indifferent. I think the best advice is as bjr posted and that is to stay busy. You've got way to much talent to be thinkin about the past. I recently got married (going on 3 years) after 42 years, it's my first and her third, and she came with two teenage kids and one thing I keep telling them all is that I can't compete with the past. If you go there, there's nothing I can say or do. That and I also tell them it's all about "attitude and choices". All we really can do is live for today, look forward in faith and as the song goes "love the one your with" be it parents, a wife, a friend, the TBN group, etc. etc.. So I do hope that during this time, even though it hurts, that you continue to look forward and if necessary talk with some this guys in here. From what I read and see, they're all a bunch of tough guys that care and that's a rarity now-n-days.

Peace be with you Mike.

And as a side note, if I was a counselor, my fee would be one (or two) of your home made implements! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Mike\'s tractor and welding projects

My ex left me two years ago. It was just about the worse experience I'd ever been through. I knew the more I thought about it, the more upset I'd get. My solution was to work from the time I got up till the time I went to bed. No computer, no TV, just physical labor. That lasted a few months and I ended up with a home in my container barn.

I also didn't have a single beer. I was afraid that if I started drinking, I'd keep drinking and do something really stupid.

After about six months or so, I went online and created a profilie on a few of the dating websites. That was the most fun I'd had in years!!! I met all sorts of women that were looking for the same things in life I was. You get to learn about a person before actually meeting. For me, this was great!! I had all sorts of issues from my marriage and realized that I'd settled, then made excuses for her. Now I had the chance to meet all sorts of new people and have allot of fun.

That's how I met Steph, and we've been together over a year now!!!

Hang in there, life will get ALLOT better!!!

Thanks to all for the kind words. I know it will get better in time, but right now that seems like forever...
