Any chance you can use an acetylene regulator on an Argon tank?

If you check ebay, there are a lot of regulators there. We sell them as well. They are good units, but are in lpm, not CFH as some desire. They are a good bit less than a SMITH, of which I own one and a prestolite. They work just as good as either of those two.

Check with your local welding shop. You might get lucky.

You could probably violate all reasoning and take out the acetylene nut and nipple ( CGA 510 ) and buy an inert Nut and nipple ( CGA 580 ) They take the Same Nipple which is a Western Enterprise or Superior # 15-3. The nut is different and both use 1/4 pipe threads..Set it at 2 PSI and it would work. Is it the correct way? Not at all. Will it work ? Yes. You can not convert PSI to CFH so turn it down until you get porassity in your weld... Then turn it back up until you dont. Then leave it alone. ( Should you do it? no. Would it work? Certainly..)
