Thank you for sharing!:D

In the location where I grew up the Farmall H and M were very popular tractors. The John Deere were popular in the larger sizes.

That won't stop me from picking on 'em though! ;)

I've even got one sitting in the yard right now. A 574 that needs help. Bought it cheap with hopes of fixing cheap too. Not happenin'. Needs hydraulic work and a new crankshaft for starters. Tires and sheet metal worth what I paid.

One slight problem though. It was red last night when I went to bed, but she's a bright white as we speak. S.N.O.W. It's snowing side-ways now. Winds about 30mph, temps @ 26 and falling fast. Any tractor that's outside now is going to stay that way, 'cause I'm not going out to get it.

8 degrees !!!, we just go through -30 for a few days last weekend, now warmed up to -14 so had to go fire up the old "AR" gasser and drag it out of the shed to move some snow off the road as we had got down to the 4x4 stage. Didn't even bother tryin' to start the "135", and the "70" is definately in hibernation ..LOL.

JJ. in B.C., All I can say is WOW, It looks like you live in God's back yard. :)

I was in Montana once when it was -24, towards the end of a cold spell, the next day it warmed up to 0 and everybody was saying how nice the weather was now and that they didn't have to wear their jackets anymore. You guys must have built in body warmers to be able to go out in that kind of weather. Down here we think it's cold when it gets below 20.

Your country side sure is beautiful.

Hi Brian
Yeah we do consider ourselves lucky to be living here, we just had a film crew up here taking pictures for postcards and calenders. We aren't as warm blooded as you might think, most folks are wearing 2 pair of thermal underwear.
Regards Jeff.

What a beautiful area!! I do have to ask. Were the temperatures you mentioned in C or F? Of course when it get's that cold, there isn't much difference.

Mike, that was -30 F or -35C, this is not unusual for us
as we often hit -40 a few times during winter months.
Strangely though it has now shot up to +30 F so had to
shed a couple of layers of clothes !!...LOL. :) JJ.

JJ,
I would imagine you were running around in a T-shirt at a balmy 30 F!:D :D :D
I really don't mind cold (teens and 20's), but that is just plain bitter. Do you ever get used to it?

Not quite T-shirt weather Mike, but i have shed the Long Johns in favour of a flannel shirt !!. Actually you do get used to it, course you have to have the right gear to wear. Another thing in our favor is our very low humidity and we don't usually get much in the way of wind (which can be a killer, literally). Just gotta keep the old wood stove stoked up and take what we get :) JJ.
