Comparison Mechron Features-True 4X4

With all these 'delays', anyone who buys one of these before they've been out for 2 years is taking a big risk.
That makes no sense. I would much rather buy something that is being reworked and delayed as they fix any problems or bugs that they find rather than buy something that was rushed into the market just to let the consumer find the problem. Toyota's long list of recalls comes to mind...

I'm inclined to agree with Forester2. First year purchases of new or significantly modified vehicles are always a bit risky and not for the type who always buys an Accord or Camry because they don't like surprises. It is well and good that Kioti is delaying introduction but it is still a new class of vehicle for them and there will be inevitable teething pains. Same probably true for the new diesel Polaris though they certainly have the vehicle itself pretty well figured out.

I presume Kioti pricing will reflect their late entry and therefore will make it worth someone taking a slight risk on new model hassles. I'm sure it will be improved over the first couple of model years just as most machines/vehicles are regardless of who made them.

So does the hard shifting problem on my 2006 Kubota RTV 900 that was out for 2 years.I think recently in model year 2008-2009 they finally fixed the problem.coobie

I too agree that first year production models can be risky but to say that something is MORE of a risk because of a delay in release just doesn't make sense to me.

I agree with that. It sounds like the marketing guys were just a bit too aggressive building up to the release and didn't give the engineers and production guys time to have the product fully ready for market. Looks like they took a page from the Chevy Volt and other vapor ware electric vehicles to get potential buyers hooked (and therefore delay purchases of competitor's existing products).

The Mechron was available in other markets before this year. This won't exactly be a "first" production year.

We wait in joy-filled hope......

Hi guys I'm in Australia and it seems we have a first as I think we have had the Kioti here for about six months. I am considering the Mechron 2200 or the Polaris 800, and the Kioti is about $5000 cheaper than the Polaris. Not much info on the brochure down here though.

$5000 ?
Even if you are talking AUD, that's still $4815 US Dollars. That's a huge difference when talking about something that is less than $12k to begin with.

The 800 is about $21000 retail, plus screen and roof so about $23000.
The Kioti is $20000 with screen, the salesman gave me the original price without GST on the Kioti so about $3000 difference at retail not $5000. Don't tease with the price you pay in the US. The word over here is that they are a very close copy of the Ranger.
