Comparison Mechron Features-True 4X4

Don't tease with the price you pay in the US. The word over here is that they are a very close copy of the Ranger.
I am not teasing your pricing at all, I am saying good for Kioti to be able to retail a diesel work-horse UTV cheaper than a gas powered Polaris recreational UTV. I bet the Polaris diesel UTV will be MUCH more expensive than the 800 Ranger so that would make the gap in pricing between the Kioti diesel and Polaris diesel even more.

I was only mucking around about the teasing, more pointing out even with a strong Aussie dollar we have to pay a lot more for the equivalent unit. I agree the Kioti is well priced for a diesel and I agree if we get to see the Ranger Diesel down under it will be costly. Thinking I will be going the way of the Kioti. Ive got a 05 Polaris 500 ATP and its been a good unit but the economy of the diesel is appealing as is the 750 payload capacity.

Well not sure if they decided to start selling these yet but I see the local fair grounds has one that they have been running around with.
It may just be in the area because of Ag progress days is coming.

I wonder if I can get them to hook a chain to my new Yanmar powered Bobcat....:licking:

I am really curious on the power and 4X4 capabilities of the inbound Kioti Mechron. Found a few brochures on it.

I have been reading up on the UTV's and see that Kubota and Kawasaki UTV's don't have true 4x4 drive trains. The Honda Big tred has issues too-one being that you have to partially to disassemble it to even change the oil filter, and that if you have the windscreen on it-it sucks in dirt and dust innto the cab in a bad way. Don't know about the Big Red 4X4 condition.

I want a UTV that won't get stuck in the sand and one that I can do routine service on myself with ease.

The Gators-anyone know about the servicing ease? Seems to be a true 4X4. The Rangers seem to have the better suspention articulation and clearance.

Kioti Specs here:http://www.shipton.com.au/daedong/kioti/utiliy_vehicle/MECHRON 2200.pdf

Anyways-any word on Kioti Mechron ETA? and comparisons welcomed.

Thanks

Can you elaborate on the "True 4X4" comment?

I am in the hunt for a UTV and have been a little overwhelmed by how many are out there on the market.

What are the different implementations/variations of 4X4?

From my limited knowledge (I find it confusing as a well) it appears as though there are UTV's which don't have limited slip and in certain situations you only have 3 wheels pulling. Some brands/models may now even have locking differentials.

The best comparisons are the videos on YouTube. Try "Ranger Rodeo" on the Polaris site and the Deere website. These videos pretty much show you the stong points of the designs and try too to show off the weak links in the competitor's offerings. These side-by-side video tests are pretty cool. Can't wait to see them with the 2011 Polaris Diesel Ranger against the 2011 Deere Diesel. Those are the two to watch this year.

The Kioti is waylaid again-some leagal issue this time.....
