What is the best way to measure the heights of the three blades on a finish mower? I have a Bush Hog RDTH72 (6') finish mower that has been giving me irregular cuts in recent years. I've got the blades off now to sharpen and would finally like to address the problem. The blades are in good shape: not bent, just dull.

Blades should be even to the deck at both tip ends of each blade and the blades are probably even with each other. If not, you may have a spindle issue or a bent deck causing the spindle to be at a slight angle.

Try reading the instruction manual? My brush cutter cuts 1" higher than the sides per the instructions. Set the side height on level ground and my cut is 1" higher.

We generally cut at 3.5" so I took a 2x4 and cut off a 3.5" piece (making a square) and I slide that underneath the blades front and rear with the deck set at cutting height.
