So that's what the bunny and turtle symbols are for! I thought it was a seat adjuster. Like the bunny meant the seat would bounce up and down all the time or the turtle meant it would be as hard as a rock /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Seriously folks, thanks for the tip, I'll play w/ it this weekend. Maybe mine is 2 stage , I always thought 2 stage had 2 augers one above the other . Is that how yours is or what makes a 2 stage? Mine is BSX 150. That knob below seat will control speed that 3 point lowers. I haven`t needed any ballast but do have scraper blade if needed and chains from dealer for rear tires but haven`t needed them. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

In a 2 stage, there's the big horizontal digging auger, then a smaller auger above at the base of the chute that throws the snow out. The single stage units rely on the large horizontal auger to both dig and throw the snow out the chute.

Okay its 2 stage then. If you use the knob to slow down 3 point hitch lowering , it will also slow down mower deck. I have to almost shut valve off to lower tiller gently , then deck will hardly lower but it is very convenient mouted right below seat so if you forget to adjust it , don`t have to get off.
