Max tongue weight on a Steiner 430

Can anyone tell me what the max tongue weight on an old (1997) Steiner 430 should be. Specifically I want to know if it is OK to pull a trailer with a tongue weight of 250 pounds.

I don't think that would be a problem at all. That's only the equivalent of a man standing on it.

One thing you have to consider, besides tonque weight, is towing capacity. My Steiner 525 had no issue with tongue weight of a leaf rake, but it knew it was back there when chopped up leaves filled that hopper! Even worse if the leaves were slightly damp!

If you are concerned about the axles, you could remove the rear weights to compensate for the extra weight on the back.
