I have the same setup on my 245 and when I get it running I'll have to figure out the same thing.

Congratulations. It has been quite a journey, and you stuck with it. When you tighten down your last bolt, treat your tractor (and you) to a new seat:)

Well done .
you ask about the draft control ,unlesss you are using a rotary hoe or a mouldboard plow I would not bother with the draft control set it all the way to the rear/up position and leave it there, Position control works like it suggests move the lever forward/down a little bit and the lift linkage will respond infinitly up a little and so on,when using the brushhog again use the Position control lever and when mowing set the lever all the way down and the linkage will Float up and down as it goes along you will have to play with the response lever on the side of the transmisssion set it all the way to the Slow position and operate the linkage with say the brushhog attached operate the linkage up and down and adjust the response control lever till you are Happy with the rate of drop that is if you push the lever all the way down the linkage and the attachement will automatically ,slowly and safely lower.
Adjustments , I have written a comprehensive explanation as to how and why the Ferguson Hydraulic system works you will have to search my posts,
If you can raise the linkage with the transport lever and when it gets to it's upper limit you should be able to move the Position control lever Around the upper stop that is fixed to the position control quadrant ,you will hear the engine labour a little bit and at the same time you will hear ,and with the sideplate off see the valve lift ,be carefull do not put your hands near the valve you could end up with a hydraulic oil injection injury ,not really what you want to do or maybe !! it will stop your joints from Squeeking, only being foolish.
Use the tractor for a bit and you will get comfortable with it and with time you will see how the Massey tractors are the best both for fuel economy and power for such a small engine I know you will be impressed.
Regards
Hutch.
