Massey Ferguson 230. The little tractor that could not

Not the same model, but it gives you a look at the actuator, and why you might want to look inside that side cover.

I didnt read the whole thread but these usually have a hydraulic manifold under the seat. One (the left one that is curved if my memory serves) lever must be locked in the forward position. the 3 point will not work otherwise. I hope this helps.

It should not be real hydraulic oil on it, 10-30 or UTF is a good choice.

Did you get the side cover off?

No..
I have had no luck with the impact driver. I may have to try an drill out the bolt head. I just dont want to danage the cover plate.

G'day Rc1700.
Try the chisel or a pin punch .

Before you start drilling ...

1. Listen to shona13
2. See if you can get a local mechanic to come out and give it a try. They have the experience and "touch" with removing stuck bolts.

Shona13's advise on the chisel to the stuck bolt is good. Keep working at it.

A little heat applied shouldn't hurt it. I had to map gas a rusty bolt on a hitch to remove it last month. A PIA till I torched it.

Well now its time for the good the bad and the ugly..
I had too end up drilling the bolt head out to get the side cover off. Once the cover was off the control lever was not really moving the plate/ roller wheel.

I view the video posted and decided to try and move the fork to see if that would do the trick to no avail. What I did accomplish was to dislodge the roller wheel and drop it into the case.

Im now thinking the top cover is going to have to come off. the lift arms are still stuck in the up position with no movement when pushing the fork toward the rear of the tracktor.

I'm at the mercy of y'all and any help or guidance you can provide me.
