The people next door are growing it. Kind of bugs me cense you can smell it out of there house. Nothing can be they are caregivers .that I'm fine with them being caregivers. just we had a house showing they loved it but did not want to live next door to that. That is the thread one. I asked them to shut there windows and use a carbon filter system.

Yes it is use medically I'm fine with that . Our realtor said the smell of it has turned three people buying because of the smell. Then one the fourth one offered us low ball offer of 80,000 from the 150,000 we are asking and the house appraised at 250,000.

House isn't A dump new roof new siding remolded in side . It's because people want someone for nothing. The guy looked at all foreclosed homes in the are thought he could get this that cheap and used the smell next door. I keep it clean. I have pride in my home. I need to sell it so we can help build a school.

Ask if they could work with you while you're trying to sell your house by implementing some odor control. Lots of things exist on the market including Carbon Filters, Odor neutralizing gels, and UV lights. Some more expensive than others. These items can be purchased online or at any Hydroponics dealer in your town. The smell can definitely be controlled if they tried. Maybe just have a talk with them and explain your situation. They may be oblivious to the issue and willing to help you.

I'm serious about the following. If it were me, i would arrange to have a BBQ grill cooking outside to mask the smell, and I would spray "febreze" throught the entire house. BTW, just tell the possible buyers that the meat on the grill is for your Family's evening meal. Another thought. Why not tell your neighbors to please discontinue smoking until the House Showing is over. Best wishes.

"skunks in the area" is another good excuse. I had a neighbor that was growing and for the longest time I thought it was the skunks we had in the area. I later realized it was their plants that smelled. You can tell perspective buyers that you had a skunk in the yard. Just a thought. . .

I would still check with the law in your area to see if they are conducting their operation legally. Especially if they are not being cooperative.

Short of Cheech and Chong coming to look at your place, you could have a pretty hard time selling it.

Interfering with the sale of your home, intentionally or not, can be dealt with. I forget the law, but there is one.

Give it time, it'll sell. The BBQ is a good idea, and personally, I would not believe everything the realtor tells ya. Turn on the potential buyer to the BBQ and a "salad" from you neighbors garden perhaps, then hand them a pen 20 minutes later.
Seriously, there are plenty of people pulling down enough money to afford your home that have no issues with caregiver medicinal use. And to tell you the truth, I am rather surprised all these potential buyers recognize the smell.. but like I said, that's according to the realtor, hopefully she isn't spilling the beans about the neighbor..
Something doesn't quite add up to tell you the truth?

A useful tip for selling a home is to bake bread or a pie just before or during a showing. When we were selling ours 10 years ago my wife prepared and froze several pies. She would bake one before the realtor and potential buyer arrived. We just had to do that three times before the house sold. So we had several pies left in the freezer which we managed to eat before we moved.

Hahaha. My mistake for not thinking about it being legal elsewhere. It is illegal here and if my neighbors were growing and smoking it and it was preventing me from selling my house, first, I'd probably give them an ample talk and ask nicely for them to quit, but if that didn't work, I'd do just what I said, introduce them to the local sheriff.

Here in california I have a script for 99 plants and can possess 16 pounds. The state doesn't even want to mess with it. If you get caught with more than what is stated on your script (mine is about as high as you can get) they call the Feds and let those knuckleheads deal with it. I pay extra for the high numbers on the script. It's called a growers script. Gettin close to harvest time. Then I can help all the sick people in Cali. I'm doing Gods work. Your welcome.
