manual grease gun

EXCUSE ME. You are right, 120 pounds. I went out and looked at the drum/pail. As far as the price, well, it's $1300.00, not $1500.00. I always round UP. Must be the banker in me. Somehow, I don't think any QUALITY grease can be had for $100.00 per 120 pounds. That sounds like the TSC generic brand.

I defense of the particular grease I am referring to, it's a pure synthetic. I guarantee when you get on your hands, it won't come off.

/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Don't worry about bending the metal tube, they are quite strong. Here is the thing, however; the lever action type with the metal tube is the best combination IF you can get into any tight spaces you need to access. Once you have to put a rubber hose on a lever gun to get access, then it becomes unwieldy because you have to hold the hose with one hand and pump and hold the gun with the other. A hose works best on a pistol grip gun. The problem with a pistol grip is that it gets very tiring on your hand. It is much harder to continually squeeze something with your fingers than to pump the lever with your arm. If you are doing a lot of fittings your hand could cramp up.
IMO, if you want a manual gun you should start with a good quality lever action with the iron pipe tip like an Alemite 500, around $30. The pipe will have about a 20 degree bend at the end to help get in tight spaces. If you still can't get into tight spots, only then look at a hose on a pistol grip or better yet a cordless electric gun.
