Man lift for fel

/ Man lift for fel #31
I'm not sure all loader lines are double braided. I worry a bit whenever someone works on a loader as man lift. But I am guessing that it would not fail as in free fall. A ladder on a loader may fall over quickly and that to me is the safety difference or lack thereof. I am surprised that someone did not repost the picture of the Thread, a week or so ago "Why Women Live Longer Then Men" .It seems perfect for this discussion.

Perhaps wearing a tree stand harness attached to the forks would at least quieten some of the the safety post on this thread. I also have one too.

My wife would NOT be the one to drive the tractor. Some wifes can some cannot, I have a cannot. For the flagpole task, I trust a very experience neighbor with the tractor part. As for as all the 'other time used' not sure since I can't call my neighbor over for every little chore (although he would). I already have had her work the curl...with me in the bucket...she can handle that, moving it...she's scared type.

I'll add, my reach in the man lift with the fel as high as it will go puts me within 2-3 feet within where the rope goes. The ladder in the lift, I'd be no more than halfway up on the ladder and a test with the forks next to the flagpole, tells me, I'll have hold of the flagpole the whole time I'm on the ladder.

...oh, and by all means: dont expect the TBN safety police approval on something beyond common, as you can see in my thread. ;)

Opinions of what size should I do from someone who has used one, given what I've got to work with?

I adapted a Genie AWP24 to my FEL years ago, mostly to finish tiling my 20' retaining wall, but also to trim
trees.

The man basket is all aluminum and larger than I need, maybe 24x30" inside. I can go up 24', and I
have only used a ladder in there to climb out of it onto a roof.

I always plant the FEL on the ground when using it, and it is pretty slick.

Telescoping flag pole. Mine was 25 ft tall, flew US and CA flags. No ropes. Easy to attach and remove the flags.

As others said, your plan is super risky. Don't do it.

When my kids were in grade school they played Little League ball. When the lights at the field needed service, we called the National Guard to get a cherry picker crane out there. The weekend warriors did the work. No charge. That might be possible for your job.

Good luck and be careful out there.

On a windy day, can the flag be removed from a telescoping flag pole easy enough, or is it a bit of a challenge? I sure like the idea of no rope to mess with.
