Man lift for fel

If all your other uses done have you using a ladder inside the manlift, then I am all for building one for the tractor.

But it seems ladder + basket + tractor for this case....is indeed a one time purpose. I'd still rent the towable lift, and still build a basket for all those other things you list.

Best solution:

Buy one, use it, then sell it for what you paid for it. Just like a Case 580K.

You want to build this, then put a stepladder on top? <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=476584"/> Please don't post a video. :) Bruce

Rent-All in Marion has a bucket lift suitable for this job about $180 a day, find some other work around your place in need of such a machine and do it all in the same day.
By no means would I put a ladder in a man lift on a tractor (or any other forked piece of equipment).

I was going to suggest a Monkeyrack. I'ts a do-dad that fits into your trailer hitch and holds an extension ladder up for climbing. It sounds just right for flagpole fixing. but it is on sale for $500. which is wayyy too much money but I'll post it anyway, just in case.

There are a lot of times I could have used something like that around the house for the things you have mentioned. Take a few pictures and try it out on low things a few times first and see how steady it is. I would think it would be very steady because is seems you have a good sized tractor. If it wouldn't work for the flagpole at least it should for the soffits etc. Make sure you have a capable driver. I would never trust my wife driving me with something like that it.

I found a basket behind a friend of mines place in the scrap. It had been (actually two of them) mounted on a snowmobile trail groomer to cut branches. It's a basket, mounted on five or six foot tubing, with a ladder that goes to the basket. I mounted it to a couple of fork pockets. It is safe and gives a little (often needed) height. Otherwise, you are just working at loader height which depending on the tractor isn't much better then a big step ladder..

Creal Springs, IL is small enough that I bet you could get someone on the fire dept to bring out a ladder truck. Just tell them there has been a cat up there for 2 days. When they get there just tell them it just jumped down and ran away. Oh by the way while your here...........

Right after you tell them the brisket you smoked is ready to eat and be careful of the drinks in the cooler because they might be too cold...

I made some forks for my loader. I have 3/4 plywood to fasten on them to make a platform. I made a railing on the two long sides from EMT tubing. It's safer than a ladder and I can move around. A step ladder on it, tied so it couldn't tip would seem pretty safe.

We trust our lives to hydraulics every time we step on the brakes in our cars, and they have fabric braid hoses made in china, not double braid steel like our loaders.
