Could you use tire dip tanks such as these cut down?
Massey is primarily the hay mowing tractor. Doesn’t get into a lot of mudProbably a really stupid suggestion - but. Put the Kubota in the green fields and the Massey in the mud.
Why do they have to be made of plastic? I would think something like a piece of 16 or so gauge sheet metal rolled in an arc would work fine. Maybe weld 1 x 1/8" flat bar to the edges of the sheet metal for re-enforcement. The extra weight of steel shouldn't be a concern. If it was done right even the aesthetics wouldn't be bad.Yeah, well acquainted with local fab shops, they live off local farmers. Nothing they are real interested in doing since plastic is involved.
Nah, metal would get ruined over the first accidental contact and could cut the tire as well. Why do they have to be made of plastic? Well, normally it's because it's cheaper. But at $3,000 that does not seem to be the primary reason.Nah, metal would get ruined over the first accidental contact and could cut the tire as well.
There's a reason they make em from plastic
No, the primary reason is that name. These days it costs more than John Deere does. $50 bolt anyone?Well, normally it's because it's cheaper. But at $3,000 that does not seem to be the primary reason.
So that leaves "lighter weight, won't rust, and won't cut into tires".

If you go into business and make front fenders, Count Me In I'll be your first customer. I need a set of front fenders for a Kubota L 3700 I am so sick of the mud getting on me and then all over the tractor as well.3 grand? Heck, I should go into business making a variety of fender sizes along with mounting brackets, all for far LESS!
I have not thought about using boat trailer fenders. That is a good idea but like you said this one more project to do as if I'm not overloaded alreadyTry searching for boat trailer fenders. They come in a variety of sizes and materials and would be pretty easy to modify. I'm not sure they come in a large enough size for the big tractors, but they will fit almost any CUT. Now you have me thinking of yet one more project to do.
