Making A Mulch Layer?? and Bed Shaper?

I was curious if anyone has made or has plans for a plastic mulch layer or bed shaper.

I have looked at some of the pictures. The design of some basic ones look simple but i was curious if anyone has knowledge of the resistance mechanism on the mulch roll? If any at all.

Just looking for some helpful insight.

Also a Bed shaper i was looking to make. Any ideas?
