I have seen some made from wood and some from steel but they only make one row and are fixed. I need some ideas for adjustable size row making with a 5 ft tiller. I have narrow tilled rows I use. I am farming in between orchard rows so I have about 7 feet wide to work with. So I have to plan my crops in a different way some rows are narrower some are wider trying to make the most with what I have tilled. Someday I might have more land cleared and can just do standard rows but until then. Any and all ideas welcomed. I hoed up 1600 linear feet of beds this year, still have not got the greenhouses done. That is enough for me something has got to change, getting to old to do everything by hand. Thanks for any help.

A PTO driven rotary tiller can in fact have hillers on their back end. In Asia, they do this. Here, very rarely.

Here is a Mitsubishi model from the early 80s.

Here is a Kubota demonstrating how these work. This model can move the hiller discs inwards or spin to lock into position.

This is a fixed width, yet adjustable to rotate and lock into position on the Yanmar model.

Maybe these will give you something to consider to mount on your tiller?

How did the DirecTV Hiller work out?
I have a good mix of sandy soil out here. I lay in wheelbarrow piles of barn manure out in the long plot garden beds from mid Fall into early Spring. Next run the disc harrow a few times between Spring rains.

When it's a nice suitable mix, I can hook up the DirecTV hiller and go at it at a slow pace. I had the hookup to work with my Harbor Freight QH. The dishes do flex under heavy loads when it's squeezing. The trick is having the right adjustment and angle. An easy way as these things have adjustments anyways.

The black bar is the rear bumper/frame off of a pop-up camper that was totaled in a rollover accident on the interstate. Its durable enough for the job.
