Mahindra vs Kioti

Kioti is not offshoot of Kubota.look similar but not related

I am not gonna argue that a kubota and probably a kioti (never used one or even seen one) aren't better than a Mahindra. But it isn't like we die as soon as we step on our tractors like you guys are making it sound. Holy smokes, like there isn't a bunch of "wtf is going on with my kubota" threads out there.

Plus, some of our rigs are now made in South Korea right next to yours. I know mine was even assembled down the road in Penn.

And EVEN BETTER, some are made in China :cool2:

Funny you point out the ones made in Korea. The quality issues I spoke of when I shopped, seemed to be concentrated to the ones built elwhare. With that said why buy a TYM with Mahindra badges at a premium when you could simply buy a TYM and save money?

That is good to know, but my point stands since people are talking about how well made S.K. tractors are (again not arguing that).

I mentioned China too. I don't think mine is a Korean one.

As for the TYM, honestly I wouldn't have been against it, there just aren't any dealers around here I don't think.

You said some are made in Penn. Penn what?
I know at one time century had a factory in Pennsylvania but that is long closed now. Think moved away.
The only thing I know about Mahindra in Penn. (if you mean Pennsylvania) is they have a final assembly of sorts in or near Bloomsburg but the are not made or built there. From what I understood was they get shipped in and prepped for transport to the dealerships there but it wasn’t at least at the time I talked with them really considered assembly.
Please enlighten me if this has changed. I haven’t been that way for a couple years so I haven’t talked with them for a good while now.

Don't fall for any misinformation hype when these tractor manufacturers are putting together pieces of tractor shipped from overseas and saying they are "built here in the usa". That is a stretch. I'm glad that people here are employed doing the assembly job, but they aren't "built" here if the are merely assembled in a building out of a crate. That is purposefully misleading.

Yes you are correct, not made but assembled. Mine has a sticker that says "Assembled in Pennsylvania". I didn't ask my dealer what they had a hand in as far as final assembly, so I'm not sure how much was actually assembled. Maybe the Loader arms were just put on there?

Yeah I know it wasn't built, I never said built, you guys are putting words in my mouth! Assembled, but yeah I admit that doesn't mean much, but it is at least a few people at work.

Again, I am not trying to say these things are the best ever made, I understand what I bought. I just think it isn't as bad as you guys think. And to be honest, I wouldn't have bought an old model one, I just feel like they've improved to a point that they decently reliable. When the warranty is up, will I keep it or sell it for something else? I don't know, that's a long ways away.

I own one of each. The 2011 Mahindra 3616 (36 engine hp, open station, shuttle shift) was made by Misubishi I believe. Certainly the engine was. After almost 9 years and 900 hours, I have had two out-of-the-ordinary repairs: the right front axle seal started leaking and I don't remember any trauma to that area and the glow plug controller issue that has been discussed here. Fixed both problems myself and do all maintenance myself. My only real complaint is the use of plastic parts for the grill area, around gear selector / fenders and the multi-piece hood with side panels. So the general verdict is mechanically sound, but fit / finish is a little poor.

The 2019 NX5010C (50 engine hp, cab, shuttle shift) only has 25 hours on it, so no comments on long-term quality. I did look at a new Mahindra (and Deere, Kubota, Massey) and chose Kioti. The fit / finish, ergonomics, features, option pricing, weight and lift capacities of Kioti far exceeded the others. Only time will tell if I made the right choice.

I would be curious where the lift capacity for the Kioti is measured from the pin on the bucket and the height the capacity is measured? Also I would be curious where the hydraulic pressure set for the Kioti. I've heard of Kubota owners increasing their hydraulic pressure from 2350 psi to 2550 psi and gaining lifting capacity.

It remains to be seen if the Kioti front axle will withstand the increased lifting capacity if it truly is rated at the same distance as other brands.

I think you are exaggerating by saying "far exceeded". I would have loved to have looked at a Kioti but the nearest dealer was 2 1/2 hrs drive from me.

About the only thing on the CUT Kioti's I see that far exceeds is the seat.
