I'm in a state of shock. Mad was a true gentleman, a fellow tractor enthusiast, and most important, a friend. He will truely be missed by all.

Godspeed Paul

I just read this thread, and I am in shock. I always read Mad's posts with great interest and tremendous respect for his knowledge. When I was asking about fabricating forks for my loader he sent me his free plans for his clamp on fork design. As I read his obituary it is uncanny how similar our interests were... guns, motorcycles, tractors. His birthdate was 2 days after mine... it really brings home the reality of our mortality. A true gentleman, with a wealth of knowledge which he was always eager to share... My thoughts and prayers go out to his family... he will be missed by many.

I know more about hydraulics from what I learned from Mad than from all my other experiences in my life combined. This is a huge loss for our TBN community. God Bless a great Man.

What sad news. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mad's family and friends. While his loss is significant to a community like TBN, my heart aches for the loss his family must be feeling. May God be with them.

His signature said, "My friends call me Mad...." Well, Paul, you will always be Mad to me because you were such a great friend to everyone here.

I will surely miss his thoughtful well-stated descriptions and dogged persistence at getting someone to understand and do things right. The world will miss this generous and intelligent fellow. I know I will.

I wonder if this thread could be sent to his family. I think it would mean a lot to them. I just lost my father in law who still practiced dentistry @ age79. He did 4 mission trips a year for Feed The Children. One of the girls who worked with him flew in from Idaho and spoke about him at the funeral.....she saw him from an entirly different prospective and her thoughts ment so much to us.

If I was his family I would love to have copies of this thread and perhaps some of his original threads..........just a thought.

We have some local Doctors who return to the Phillippines each year to help people... Bet Madrefree visited the Phillippines. Been there, done that!

Ya' know, some mornings you just get up and don't understand why things happen, but they do, and I believe all things happen for a specific reason. Some people may understand things right away, others are left to ponder and at a later date, hopefully, gain understanding. Just like now, why Mad, why at this time?

Don't know about the rest of you but when I log on to TBN there are certain members you just look forward to reading their post, regardless of the question. You just see their experience and knowledge and think, "wow, how cool is that" or "man I wish I was as smart as them", well, Mad was one of them to me, as is evident with everyone else that comes across TBN.

Whatever he did daily, I don't know, but what he has done eternally, is educate those of us who also have a passion for "making life simple with tractors" and therefore being able to pass along the knowledge to others that will come along. The winning lottery ticket doesn't even come close to that kinda value.

So with all due respect, thanks Mad, though I never got to meet you in person, just knowing your heart is all one needs.

HOMEWARD BOUND

Please don't think about me as being gone
when they lay my body to rest
I'll be playing just over on the other side
with the redeemed and the blest
Rejoice for me for what I've left behind
the Truth has set me free
I'll be waiting for your appointed time
we'll be together for eternity.

I was saddened to read this about MR. He always was such a knowledgeable, calm, collected, helpful individual. I'm glad that he didn't suffer, and went very quickly, seeing that it was his time. He was doing what he loved, and pasing quickly is a good reward for an honest, and productive life. After reading all the post, he will be sorely missed by all.

I am shocked and saddened as well as I read this news......Thank you sir for your contributions to all of us, your brothers here at TBN. May we all pause for a moment in honor of MadReferee and to realize how important we all are to each other and let us appreciate the unspoken love we share! Thank you TBN for allowing us all this opportunity.

I am not sure why I did not see this post earlier. I never know what to say during these times. May God be with the family . He was too young to go. My Mother died at age 59. My Dad said at my mothers funeral heaven needed a special angel so that is why God took his. I am sure that is why he was called on so soon.

I guess I'm a little slow on the uptake, prayers from Texas for Paul and his family.

Wow, so sorry to hear of this. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends!

I too remember him explaining where he came up with his TBN handle in a thread not too long ago.

God Bless Him!
