Recently bought a M62TLB to replace my L47TLB. Yesterday I used the backhoe for the first time and was greeted with great disappointment.

First: Using the outriggers I could raise the rear wheels only about 2" above the ground, which is okay on level ground but not good for the slight slope I was on. Couldn't raise the lower side any higher to level the tractor.

Second: The backhoe bucket did not seem to have the digging power I was used to with my L47. There were many times that I could go down only a few inches with the bucket and then raise it with the dirt I was digging.

Third: Raising the boom, when I could, seemed to take forever. The boom would go sideways at a much higher rate of speed.

Fourth: There were times when I had the boom fully extended and the bucket somewhat full that I could not raise the boom. Had to dump the bucket to raise the boom. The last time that happened was when I stopped digging.

It seemed the more I used the backhoe the more trouble I was experiencing. Will be talking with the dealer later today.

Anyone else had those types of problems?

Check that your diverter valves are all the way out/in as appropriate. If that doesn't help then re-connect the BH hydraulic connections.

If your diverter valves aren't set properly you will see problems like you described.

Another note is that the M62 is pushing a lot more weight around at further distances than your L47 and it isn't exactly high flow hydraulics. The BH is just "ok" for power and speed. Your loader speed and power is "good" for that sizeof machine and your back wheels will see lots of air time with the BH off.
