M59 capabilities

I made my first post last week regarding purchasing an L39. Well was at the dealer today and was checking out an M59. It looks to have the same same front bucket and gannon rear scrapper as a full size skip loader. A full size skip weighs in about #14,000 where the kubota comes in around #8,300. I'm just wondering how the loader and gannon are going to perform on the smaller kubota? When you first look at the tractor, they look big, but the tractor is smaller than a full size but then when I saw the front bucket and the gannon scapper of to the side they looked huge. Anybody have thoughts on this?

If you look up the specs of a JD 310, the dimension are very close to the M59. The big difference is the weight of the M59 at #8300 and the 310 is about #18000, and the lifting capacities are about half on the M59.

I would think that the loader and backhoe on the M59 are a good match for it. It should be able to push itself around while digging and it is a capable tractor, but it is still no full-size backhoe. All around it is a nice do-it-all tractor, but for the price you could buy a 3000 hr full-size backhoe and a new MX5100 with loader and have much more capability yet.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the M 59s buckets...but the weight becomes a huge factor when you step up to full size and plays a big part in moving them from job to job.

For the price of the M59 you could fine a good used full-size TLB with a lot less than 3000 hours. The M59 sure is a nice rig, though!

pricewise you can get a terex tlb w/ cab and amenities for close to the price of a M59. my backhoe weighs in around 9300 lbs. i am easily able to pull the machine or push when digging in heavy material with a 24" bucket. i would have to think this would be more noticible in lighter the M59. i'm going to give them a bit more time and see what the reviews look like for it. hopefully a cab will be offered in the future. this would add some weight. has kubota said anything in regard to filling the tires?

Could you use the Terex as a tractor also? That is what a lot of people are looking for. One unit, That covers everything.
I know when I get A TLB, It had to be a Tractor and Backhoe.

I've found the m59 loader is strong, but not too strong. I do have almost 2000 pounds weight in the tires.

And why m59 over used TLB? Covered that in an other post, but I wanted both tractor and backhoe, and didn't want to deal with the maintenance on a 3k hour backhoe. I've had great luck with kubota so far maintenance wise.

I've found the m59 strong enough for anything I've tried so far, been really pleased. And that includes light bulldozing with the 4n1

I can also use any skidsteer attachment (regular flow) with the m59, don't think you can do that with a TLB. My preseeder works great on the front.

Yes I know that. Was just trying to make a point to the above post. That the M59 is more for people like me. That are looking for a TLB. To be able to replace a Trackhoe and then Kubota M4700 that I have. This way I have one unit. And one trip to where I am working.

IMHO this applies to both the L39 and especially the M59:

The machines could use more steel, In the case of the L-39 about 1000 Lbs worth and in the case of the M-59 about a tonne. A minimum 12.5 x 16.5 skidsteer front tire with HD Front axle would help the machines in soft ground.

Cab option for both also.

I know weight is an issue, both being too heavy to tow or too light to do heavy ground engagement.
