I recently bought a M105X tractor with a FEL. Man is this a nice tractor.

I looked at 4 other colors of tractors before I made my decision.

I do have a few questions.

1. I read where someone on this site hooked up a buzzer to the parking brake. I was curious how they did it. Is it just hooked to the light sensor switch or is it also connected to a shuttle switch so it only buzzess when the park brake is on and in gear? I am afraid somebody will move the tractor with the brake on and mess something up.

2. I am installing a hydraulic diverter to run my grapple. The dealer threw this in to sweeten the deal. If I would of read here first I would of probably installed a electric spool valve so I could run everthing at once. I am looking for pictures of how you routed the hoses. With the fassee valve they sent me it is mounted on the inside of the top loader arm near the rear where you hook and unhook loader from tractor. (not the self leveling arm but below it.) I find you don't have much space between the hood and connections with this mounted there. I cannot open the hood with the loader down. It also looks as if it will be hard to feed the hoses through the metal hoop that is welded to the frame when dismounting and mounting loader. Thinking of putting valve on outside frame of loader but not sure if I would damage the hoses or not. Any advice from somebody who has done this is appreciated.

3. The loader when I take it off and put it back on does not line up straight. I am on the cement with the bucket on. when I drive into the loader the right side lines up perfect. the left side at the bottom lines up perfect. The left side at the top when I move the loader lever to rotate the top back so the pins will line up hits the pin bushing on the tractor mounted frame (left side of tractor but right side of bushing) on the flat piece (back portion of loader the slips on both sides of bushing on tractor) that is supposed to slip past the bushing to line up the hole for retaining pin. I have to get someone to help me with a prybar to push the frame over. I think if the bushing wasn't flat but had weld to make a ramp for the frame to slide to the right it would slip back by itself but I am looking for advice before I start modifying myself since the tractor only has 50 hrs on it. It is almost like the something is not straight up and down since the right side is perfect. I haven't told dealer but will be doing that this week if there is not a simple solution.

4. This is my biggest pet peave of the tractor. The lights. With the FEL on the front lights are worthless. You have to drive down the road with your loader high or turn on your worklights and blind everyone. The flashers are behind the side mirrors so if at night you look at your mirrors all you see are your flashing lights. I had a friend suggest to paint the front lens of the lights black so it wouldn't show in mirror. Then run a wire on each side to the mirrors and mount a flashing light on the front side of the mirrors like the CaseIh combines have. Anyone done anything with the flashing lights or have any great ideas?

5. No horn I guess I can live without this.

I sure would like to spend about an hour with the engineers since most of my dislikes are very easily fixed. Other than that I am majorly impressed with the tractor so far.

Thanks
Tom

Can't help you with your questions but that is one bad looking tractor. I don't think I have the room to turn one around here. I know it wouldn't fit in my hay sheds. What is your primary use?

I am a farmer with a cow calf operation. I use it to feed cattle during the winter. I feed round bales of hay, silage and the by product from ethanol production.

I have a Anbo grapple so it will move and pile alot of brush this winter we cut out of fence lines.

We had a 12-14 inch snow storm about 2 days after I got it while I was still demonstrating it (hadn't bought it yet). Man was that a fun day. Wouldn't want to do that to often though. I put 8 hours on the tractor that day.
With the loader and a blade I actually cleaned out a lane that the new road commisoner couldn't push through with the maintainer/road grader.

During the summer I could use it to mow, rake, & bale hay. I have 4 other tractors with this being my smallest. I am thinking about putting it on my 750 gallon field sprayer. I also have a 15 ft batwing mower to mow pastures and waterways so it may get to do that.

During the fall it will haul in grain or run a auger. The tractor I traded was 52 horse so I was unable to haul in with it but on flat land this tractor might be big enough to move a 500 bushel wagon.

Thanks for the reply

Tom

The 105 is your smallest? How many cows do you have?

I never ask a man the size of his herd, but to give you some comparision my 7040 is my largest tractor. But then again, most folks wouldn't call my operation farming.

I have 77 head of cows now (this varies from year to year with available pasture) and have been offered the opportunity to expand to 120 head if I decide to take the deal that has been offered to me.

I raise about 900 acres of corn and soybeans as well as do a small amount of custom farming. Which is why I have the bigger tractors to pull the tillage and planting equipment.

I also have a Gold digger tile plow that I install field tile with. This at times takes 2 good sized tractors when installing tile that is deeper.

My largest tractor is a CaseIH 7240 MFD that was dyno a year ago at 218 pto hp.

I did get my diverter all hooked up today and the hoses routed to something I can live with. Not perfect but doesn't look to bad.

I'm wintering 24 head. Should all be bred. Never go over 50. Just sold my Bull saturday. He would have been 4 years old in March. Crossed the scales @ 2300 lbs. I enjoy it. Some people play golf.
fitz.

I've had a M105 for 2 years. Great tractor, zero problems. But you are right on about the head lights being useless with a FEL. The only buzzer/alarm mine has goes off when you weight comes off the seat with the PTO still engaged.

the only thing which will happen when you drive off with the park brake on is the brake wears out a bit. it is so easy to do. I'm with you on the buzzer idea.
We get a horn on our X's. its mounted in the most ridiculous place. on the operator side of the steering column about knee height. so when you turn around to look over your shoulder HOONNKK, really is annoying and is about to be moved because i am sick of it.
with the loader you could try to loosen all the loader mounting frame bolts a bit, then push the loader down and lift the front wheels, then tighten the bolts up again. do this on a concrete slab. it sometimes fixes the prob.
a few gripes aside I love my 125,

I am the one to install a horn and audible alarm on my emergency brake.I really like it both of them.I could not believe a tractor of that caliber does not have a horn. The 2 complaints i have is trying to see what i am doing when using FEL at full height, like stacking rolls of hay 3 high. That was improved on the 40series by relocating radio and a/c controls, and having more glass at the top of cab.The other thing i don't like is only one of the two remotes has a float position.Oh i also whish it had a buddy seat.
