M 7040 HD

I want to know what the difference between a 2006 no hours brand new and a 2008 no hours brand new? What price should I expect to pay. Both units are a 4x4 with a loader and forks with a cover. Thanks

I have a 2006 M7040HD and for the most part I really like it but read this thread before you buy the 2006 model. I paid $28,250 for my 7040 with loader rops model.

Thanks I test drove one today and it would not lift the sod off my truck. I guess i will move up to the M 8470 HD. Any feed back would be welcome. Thanks again. Bob

No Time, what does a pallet of sod weigh? If it wouldn't lift sod maybe it wouldn't lift a pallet of feed either which weighs 2000lbs.

Sometimes 2000 lbs to 3400 lbs. I was told to look at a R 520 s lift. Not sure where to find one.

I would think an actual forklift or a skid steer would be better for those types of numbers. What are you trying to do with the sod. Where do you have to move it too?

I live in Tampa,fl and I take the sod off my truck and del or install it. I had a new holland TN 75 and worked great. the dealer I bought from is not a NH dealer anymore but, carries Kubota. He suggested the 7040 or 8540. The 8540 or 9540. My Nh was stolen 2 weeks ago and just was not ready for this purchase. Does Kubota make a R 520.S articulate fork lift?

They call it a wheel loader. If you look on Kubota.com under construction equipment. It lists tipping weight at 5K but operating capacity at 1600. for pallet forks??? You might also look at the M59 or L45 They are designed as TLB's and have better loader capacity than similar tractors.

I've got the M8540HD with LA1353 loader. The loader has power/height settings. How high do you need to lift your sod pallets? The loader is rated for 2977 lbs at bucket center to full height. The loader manual shows a lift height vs. capacity curve which shows it can lift 4000 lbs to about 6 feet. Ask your dealer about this.
