LS Tractor Floppy Bucket Syndrome?

How is my attitude insulting and yours not? I understand you have no skin in the game and can say whatever, but you keep downplaying my issues like I don't know how to use a tractor.

I get it, you like your dealer. That's great, but that does not change the issue. Good salesmen will always make you feel like a friend until you really need them for something.

"Where Everybody's Family." I know my family would have never let me deal with this much headache. So no, I am not family. I am a customer that got a bad run and was left with $30,000 in the trash.

Telling the truth can sound insulting, but its really just hard to hear by people that don't want to hear it.

My post, about overheating, was directed to mred2. You decided it was appropriate .. to be insulting to me .. about a post to another member. Simple.

Carry on.

Good to see you back brs. Hopefully you enjoyed your 2 week vacation.
I am also glad to hear that LS is (hopefully) working with you to resolve your issues. :drink:

Thanks. It was great really; 75 degree weather everyday. Hard to come back to Texas heat but I do love Texas too.

Hoping I can try mowing in A/C again soon. Will see.

Hope you had a great vacation. Sounds like maybe some positive movement. Good luck.

I want to know why this is common with LS (and the other "off" brands it seems) but not with the New Holland with the same base tractor, JD, Kubota, Mahindra ...

I'm not sure it is so common. Nobody else on this forum seems to have the problem you do. I think trying to extrapolate the problems you are having as being pervasive amongst all LS tractors is part of what's not earning you much sympathy. Maybe you have a bad valve. Maybe you have a leak somewhere that is sucking in air. That is a specific problem of your tractor that is not widespread.

Similarly, you have a problem overheating. No one else seems to have that problem. That doesn't mean your problem isn't real. But it also doesn't mean it is indicative that all LS tractors are bad.

If you are willing to try specific actions, and report back on them, I think you will find a generous community that is willing to help (for free, no less).

Some wise advice I once received was, "when faced with a problem, you can either be part of the solution, or part of the problem. The minute you start complaining, you are part of the problem."

Mine does the same thing, it's aggravating, but all in all,
it's a small thing

1st, I never said my overheating problem is common. I know that is one of the issues I have with my tractor that others do not and that is why I have tried to get it fixed so many times. A few other LS owners seem to have it, but its not widespread.

2nd, my dealer told me when I asked them about it years ago that all (LS) tractors do it. From what I read on this forum, the LS tractor owners DO have the floppy bucket issue like mine does. Their's may not be as severe, but they have it. Are you saying you do not have it? You must be based on your post. This is widespread.

3rd, I know this forum is a great resource of help. I have found that in other threads. Some threads are more helpful than others just like some users are more helpful than others.

So, I don't get what you are saying in your post unless you just want to extrapolate my words and make it all look like whining. I am not just complaining, I am finding solutions. As I have for my A/C compressor, just like I am working on the overheating issue.

I have some wise advice I have heard too, but I will leave that alone.

My LS has the floppy bucket. I have lived with it since new but will attempt the "fix" in the video. I suspect the "fix" is temporary, but for those times when I need the bucket not to flop, it is not a big deal if it works. MY JD855 did not have a floppy bucket.

BTW, for the guy to post the video (seems like he is a dealer?) it must be a real issue and affects most (all?) LS platforms. Seems like a design flaw that could be eliminated for not a lot of money, but I understand a manufacturer cutting where they can to meet a price point.

For the money I saved ($8000+), it is a small trade off for the way I use the machine. I would invest $250 to cure it but not $500.

Other tractor shoppers should be aware of it so they can decide for themselves. If they intend to do a lot of bucket grading work, it will be a PITA.

My lemony JD 1025R indeed had it. No way would I ever have tried to load stuff into the side of my pickup with the 1025R. By comparison, the 2025R is absolutely goofproof.

My LS has it, but so does my son's Mahindra. I think this is common with smaller tractors. But it has never caused me a problem. I grade with a grader blade, not a loader bucket. I use my loader a lot to stack and put out hay, grapple work for cleaning up and moving dirt and gravel. I can't say that I haven't used the front bucket to drag with, but I don't think it is recommended. Could it be fixed with different valves? Maybe so, but for me it is just not a problem I care to spend time and money on.

It's primarily .. a function of hydraulic pump size.
