Okay, from city to city ONE WAY per Mapquest its 2862 miles and figuring 15 MPG on my truck it's $745.00 dollars in fuel and a 45 hour drive. If I team drove it it would be two days straight through. But if I did it solo I would have to add in four sleep stops and of course you can't forget food. Round trip it's 5724 miles!!! And $1490.00 dollars in fuel!!! So the maximum difference between doing it myself and having them ship it is $510.00 dollars IF their shipping estimate stays at $2000.00 dollars. If I made a maximum of six sleep stops and figuring $50.00 dollars a night the difference breaks down to $210.00 dollars. I could easily use that up in food and beverages. So in reality it will most likely be an even split either way. Besides, who wants to drive through Tornado Alley this time of the year. B.

I agree...And was forgetting that you were so far away...not worth it then given the mileage...would just pay to ship...


Conversely, you could let your local dealers know what kind of deal you are getting on the tractor/loader/hoe and see if they can compete...:drink:

I always wondered if those canopies made a real difference. Do they?

Jumping in on this one.. Just mowed about five acres today. No trees.. 92 Degrees in the hot Texas sun.. Makes a huge difference!! Will never own a tractor without one again!

Can't answer that one.. The G3038H doesn't have a folding ROPS.. I keep my tractor in a shed that I had built for it

Ah, that's right it doesn't have the folding ROPS. I keep bouncing between the G3038 and R3039 probably in HST but haven't decided on that yet either.... Will your G3038 fit inside a 9'x7' garage door.

Hmmm.. I would have to go re-measure that, but I believe if I remember correctly with the ROPS, she was just a bit under 9' with the canopy.. I would confirm that with your dealer to be sure..

Well, that wouldn't work my door is only 7' tall. I could put it in my Uncle's pole barn I suppose, but that's a good 900 FT from my place.

My mistake. misread it. Thought 9' tall.. It most definitely will not fit in standard 7' height garage door. That's why I built my shed for it...

If you don't finance with the dealer you should get the cash price.

In Georgia, we do not usually pay taxes on tractors either. I got cash price because I procured my financing.

altamaha, do you have any knowledge of Benjys Tractors in Patterson or Farmmart in Statesboro? these would be the closet dealer for me as far as i can tell.

Unless you have a Georgia Agricultural Tax Exemption (G.A.T.E) card you have to pay taxes here in Georgia.

Did you buy this year? You may end up with a tax bill at the end of the year. Below is what my local Mahindra dealer sent in an email from a quote I asked for. I've been planning on getting with my CPA soon to see how I can get by without paying taxes also. I actually think I might qualify for the GATE card.

These prices do not include sales tax which must be charged if you live in
the state of Georgia and do not have a GATE card. GATE is for Georgia
Agricultural Tax Exemption, which is allowed if you have a farm and meet
certain qualifications for the exemptions. If you want more information just
google "Georgia Gate card."

No.. I purchased in 2012. I do not believe GATE had passed into law at that time...
