Our dishwasher stopped running and displayed a low voltage code two days before Christmas 🙁
I opened the electrical box which was included with the dishwasher and this is what I found. The incoming wire is 12 gauge and the screws were found to be tight.
I removed the buss & stripped the wires back and used wire nuts to reconnect.
Fortunately no damage was done and it’s back on line & my hands are cleaner than they’ve been in months😉
What would cause this or is Murphy’s law at work?

At a guess it appears the terminal strip itself is defective. The screws themselves may have bee tight but the connections themselves loose inside the terminals.

Ya, only loose terminals generally cause this. You can bypass this box and just wire nut the connections

I think you meant bypass the terminal strip, not bypass the box. You want wire nut connections within a protective box

It might have been a PITA to find it occurred...but it was a gift that you didn't have something far worse result from it.

Would the location lend itself to putting an outlet in the box and a plug on the dishwasher cord. I did this and it provides a means to disconnect the dishwasher if needed. I've done wire nuts on solid to stranded, but prefer to avoid it if I can.

Solid to stranded wire connections is not an issue. Ive done it for 30+ years. NEC has no issues with it. Plug in is always best though. When i wired houses i always placed a plug for D/W in the cabinet next to the unit. And ran cord thru hole with water line and drain.
