I lost the o-ring from my fuel filter when cleaning. my dealer said I could go to NAPA and get a new one. The problem is, I don't know what the size of the o-ring is and where it fits on the fuel filter. Does anyone have a picture or diagram showing where the o-ring goes on the fuel bowl?
Thanks,
Ben

Take the bowl with you when you go to NAPA, they'll be able to figure it out.

Did you physically have in hand when you dropped the bowl? Perhaps it stayed stuck in place where the bowl fits to.

I don't remember seeing it at all when I removed the bowl. I felt around but do not feel it where I removed the bowl. I just want to see how it fits on the bowl so I will know if I am getting what I need.

In that case it's probably still up in the filter base. You probably wouldn't be able to feel it, try a mirror and a flash light to get a good look.

Assuming you mean a sediment bowl.

I seem to be getting lots of those bowls....

I went to a local tractor store, and said I needed a couple of gaskets for fuel sediment bowls... I had the glass bowl with me, but didn't need it. The guy knew exactly what to grab.

I think they were $1.25 each.

These were flat (natural?) cork gaskets, but seem to do the trick. I don't know how long they'll last.

My Freeman has two flat gaskets, and two O-rings (4 sediment bowls). I can try to measure one if you wish.

Stuff like that, I usually find... Right after I spend a lot of effort, time, and travel time to get a replacement. Then you find the original one you couldn't find right in plain sight.... :)

Ok, here are some dimensions.
My Sed Bowl: 1 15/16" OD, 1 13/16" ID, plus about a 1/16" stepped down portion on the inside.

FLAT Cork gaskets (new): 2" OD 1 1/2" ID, (1/4" wall), 3/32" thick.

O-Ring (well used), 1 13/16" OD, 1 3/8" ID, 3/16" thick
Yes, I know the numbers don't quite add up. Perhaps a smidge over 3/16" thick, perhaps 7/32, at least when flat. The thickness is still closer to 3/16".

The O-Ring is much more pliable than I remember it being a couple of weeks ago, so I assume it has absorbed some gasoline.

The flat gasket is designed to entirely cover the edge of the sed bowl.
The O-Ring is designed to mostly set down into the stepped down area on the inside of the sed bowl, perhaps slightly greater in diameter than the stepped down portion, but not as great as the OD of the bowl. It is rather thick.

Some of my sed bowls also came with mesh screens. Some did not.
