Lost Key YM2220

Searched previous posts for any discussion of lost/replacement tractor keys and found one thread that recommended getting a JD 850 key to replace a YM1700 key. I've got the same problem with a YM2220. Will the same approach work here? If so, what JD model is appropriate?

TIA to any kind folk who have an answer.

Here's an eBay listing for a Yanmar key. I bought one and it fit my F15D. He claims it fits many other models...possibly it will fit yours, too. He seems to list a new key every 4-5 days.

I just replaced my ignition switch/lock and got a new set of keys with it, so have a couple of extra used spares. If you would like to send your mailing adddress by private message, I would be happy to mail you one.

Tom, go to your local JD dealer and get part # CH12206. There will be 2 keys in the package. Cost about $ 5.00, don't let the word ( Yanmar ) come out of your mouth while you are in the JD dealership. These keys will not fit some of the YM1700's.

Danny do you know if the same part number would work for a FM3110 key.?? I would like to have a spare. thanks

Don't know about a FM3110, but a YM3110 is the same.

A big thank you to all who came to my rescue on the lost key fiasco. Of course you know what happened. It always does in this kind of case. After I got a replacement key (from Norm - thanks again, Norm), and after the tractor set out through a wild night of rain, wind, thunderstorms, and tornados (none hit us, but they were all around the area), as I was walking out to check the replacement key, a flash of light in the grass caught my eye. Need I say more.

Now, at least, I have a spare.
