Lost Dump Pressure

I was moving dirt, the other day. While dumping my loads, I was pertially driving up the dump pile. On one occasion, the edge of the bucket came down on to the pile annd I started rolling backward. Mistakenly, I attempted to dump the bucket further, and since this would have had to pull the tractor up the hill, this didn't work.

I now have up and down pressure on the loader, up pressure on the bucket curl, but NO DUMP PRESSURE ON THE BUCKET. When I dump it goes slow. If I attempt to hold the edge of the bucket against the ground, it just gives way.

This is a Woods 126 FEL on a Kubota M6040. Bugs me too, because though they always say not to scrape backwards with the bucket edge, I had done so many times with my prior M5040 with a Kubota loader. Not sure what the difference is between the Kubota loader and the Woods, but so far I wish I had the Kubota loader back.

Any assistance in getting back my dumpt function would be greatly appreciated.

If you have QD in the circuit, unplug and re-plug.

could it be a blown O ring in your bucket cylinder? Or are there two cylinders on the loader?

The Woods126 has two cylinders.

Ok, so I appreciate the assistence above.

That said, I go out and diconect all the QD's from the FEL. I reattach. Still operates the same. It seems that the right side IS pushing down, but the left is not. I decide to actually go take a look at the bucket and cylinders.

Another lesson learned. When something stops functioning as it did/should, take the time to check things over.

The rod broke the weld on the bucket end. Though it is tempting to re-weld it, the rod does not seem to be actuating and is leaking. I'm assuming the rod bent before the weld broke.

I got a price of ~$170 for the cylinder assembly. Plus shipping.

I would also guess you bent the rod. To check for a bent rod place the bucket flat on the ground and then try to dump the bucket. Pressure will build and the left cylinder should extend.

I guess by now you know what a QD is, and if not, it is a Quick Disconnect fitting, two parts, male and female, for coupling hyd hoses.

While I'm exposing my ignorance . . . when the new cylinder arrives, in what position should the other cylinder be in to assure that the two ar 'in sync'?

I never have liked this Woods loader vs the Kubota loader . . . especially all the exposed hydraulic hoses. The Kubota's was all metal tubing. Much neater and no ill-effects from UV rays.

You could try and fill the cyl first, or just connect the hoses and operate the levers.

It may take about 5 complete cycles to purge the air from the cyl.

The FEL valve will supply fluid to the cyl with the least resistance first.
