Lost an hour to DST

Wait until you are retired. I get up and go to bed when it suits me. DST or not - makes no difference. However - I do have one clock that does not automatically reset. Kind of a PITA.

I do that already.
Well, sort of. If I want to get home early enough to accomplish something. I will leave for work a couple of hours early so that I can get home.

When I retired in 2019, the transition from self employed to retiree was easy, turn the alarm clock off and get up when I feel like it.
My schedule has shifted some, I rarely go to bed before midnight, some times as late as 3AM and rarely get up before 8AM, usually around 9AM. Nothing in my life is that important that it can't be done a little later on.
Oh yeah, I'm single. Makes a big difference.

It's that day again. I haven't seen anybody complaining so I will bump up this three year old thread. 😁

There is talk about doing away with time changes. Who knows if anything will come from it.

And I was enjoying the piece and quiet on the subject matter

IT seems there has been "talk" of it for years

I hope they don't do away with DST, or worse, make it permanent. The time change does not bother me and I like it being light enough to do stuff outside by a reasonable time in the winter. Not getting light for another hour in the morning in winter, or getting light an hour earlier in summer would both suck.

There's a reason why many countries, especially those with land nearer the poles, do DST. It doesn't matter so much in the tropics where the difference between winter and summer daylight is not so large.

When you retire time is just making your own schedule. Daylight Savings time was nice in the summer season with long days.

My problem is getting up running and running out of steam and not getting to enjoy the long evenings. Nodding out early.
I miss working eight hours and going home and working four more for myself.
I shouldn't complain.
Move it 30 minute's and stop the disruption. Compromise
I'm sure many on here have made that suggestion.
Government can never decide these issues:oops:

I just hope other states don't do what Arizona does and not observe DST. Whatever happens, it needs to be consistent across the entire US.

Anyone who travels in Arizona knows what I'm talking about.

I prefer if they never changed the time again. Just pick one, split the difference, or whatever. Stop making me change all the clocks!
I have 7 clocks to change and 4 vehicle clocks. Enough is enough
CA put it on the ballot and the people voted to abolish DLS time changes but the Gov. refused to sign it.
I say let him come over and change all my clocks this morning.
