Losing Pins

Anyone else have trouble keeping the retaining pins on? I do custom BushHogging and loader work with my 2015 and it seems every time I end up losing some pin or another from the 3 point ball mounts, sway chains, or this weekend it was from the drawbar retaining pin and I almost lost the drawbar. I guess the vegetation just reaches up and grabs them.

You might try replacing them with bolt and lock nut. Kind of a pain if you switch implements a lot but for a mostly dedicated bush hog or drawbar it should work.

I purchase the black pins from Tractor Supply and they are stronger springs. the cheap gold color I have wondered it they don't pop out on there own .
Give them a try.

If you want to go through the trouble get some wire leader (fishing line) and a crimping tool and make lanyards for your pins. Another choice is sash weight chain easy to bend, wire, zip tie, solder or weld to pins. Back when I was writing specifications for trucks any pin that could be remove was attached with some kind of lanyard.

I took the cheap approach & use paracord to "leash" mine...

I purchase the black pins from Tractor Supply and they are stronger springs.

The 99 cent black lynch pins at Tractor Supply have about three times the spring-circle tension of the zinc chromate/gold lynch pins.

This will be your simplest solution.

The gold ones I got from Agri Supply have very strong spring tension. They are actually a little hard to open and if you’re not careful they will pinch the sh*t out of you.
