How about just replacing the bearing & seal ? Although I don't blame you for wanting a complete new part.

Do these pumps fit both diesel and gas motors? (mine is 1510d). Is the more expensive one worth the extra cost? I don't want to have to replace it again.

These little Yanmars don't have gasoline engines. I cannot answer your question whether the expensive one is worth the difference. Some say you get what you pay for, maybe, maybe not. I'm sure you will get more comments on your question.

Better pump, New pully Mounting studs and a Water pump Gasket. The higher price. Also noted. My 2 cents

I am finally getting around to replacing this water pump. When I removed the old pump, there is a block behind it that pulled loose just a little. Do I need a gasket for that also? If so what gasket do I get? The seam in the picture is where it is loose, the pump mounts just below the hose clamp with long bolts going through the block.

You need to be careful with the Chineseum parts as they don't always fit correctly. I know someone that bought one for their Kubota (not me) and the impeller was sticking out too far and ate into the timing cover under the impeller and that was an expensive ordeal. if you get one, just don't bolt it up but makes sure it fits correctly before buttoning it up and filling it with coolant. There is not much clearance between the impeller and the timing cover. The Chinese are good at copying stuff but they don't always get the clearances correct. That retailer sells a lot of Chineseum after market parts so beware.
