He had no current inventory of anything that I wanted (Tractor or implements). Anything that I did/do want would need to be ordered as he mostly deals with larger tractors.

Ah ok ... Unless you're in a hurry, might be worth waiting to checkout the new engines first hand

Mine regens every 4 hrs also. No big deal just let it do its thing

I have 18 hrs on my 4046H now. I love the tractor but the regen every 4 hrs really aggravates me. Its constantly on my mind when running the tractor and it always goes in regen mode when I need to shutdown. If someone comes up with a delete kit I'm buying. As for buying one now or waiting, I'm waiting and taking a chance on the new engine.

Check out the XR4155

Looks like the xr4100 series is replacing the XR4000 series...and they now offer up to 55HP in a HST.

Sadly, they still haven't addressed the low loader lift height, and no linked pedal yet :-(

Did you also notice the engine listed for both the 4100 series and the 3100 is the same? The spec sheets list the same dispacement@ 114 inches. HP from 35 to 55. The only thing not listed is the amount of boost on each...

Seems like alot of Mfgs are moving in that direction ... Just like cars. Smaller displacement.

Forgot to mention it is the same engine number L3C19-T. Just speculation here, but; L for LS, 3C for 3 cylinders, not sure about the 19 unless thats the displacement in liters, and T for turbo.

Actually, 114.7 cu inches works out to 1.879 cubic liters so that might be it if its rounded up.

Ok, here's the deal as I understand it (I might be partially wrong). The new engines are high pressure, common rail, lower displacement with a small turbo. We're seeing this in construction equipment up to about 125hp. This engine configuration generates torque at low rpm, and due to the lower displacement and high pressure injection (better atomization), burn MUCH cleaner. Thus the reduction in regen. The trade offs are high tolerances in high pressure fuel pumps (Hpfp) which generally require clean, high lubricity fuel, finer fuel filters, and small quick spooling high rpm turbos.

I have had experience with this configuration over the last 3 or so years. Hpfps haven't been a problem (unless you have a Vw or BMW). These Bosch pumps were destroying themselves due to our lower lubricity fuel in North America. They just weren't designed with our fuel in mind. Construction equipment has been fine, for the most part. Turbos, especially Borg Warner variable pitch units were prone to failure, especially during cold starts. They just spooled so fast, and people would rev them while cold and they loose a bearing. Proper oil is critical. Construction equipment has gone to computer controlled warm up periods that limit rpm until a certain operating temperature is reached.

An added benefit benefit to this design is very low noise

I don't know how well LS has matched their engine components (pump, injectors, turbo, ecu), but in general, I'd take the new style engine over the old.
