Hi all, I am looking for my first tractor, most likely a sub-compact or compact, mainly for snow removal in my neighborhood. I have a small lot, and neighbors to help. We have tons of snow as we are in the mountains in Washington. I have been researching JD, LS, NH, Mahindra, MF, etc. I am price sensitive since this will be primarily a snow removal tool and I don't have a farm. It seems difficult to find any meaningful head to head comparisons on new models.

I need the bucket, front snow thrower is all, not too complicated or fancy. Quick disconnect of course and HST. Front snow thrower to avoid another back surgery.

I am leaning toward MF, NH and LS currently. Any constructive comments would be more than welcome. Thanks for your input.

Choose which snow blower you want to buy first, then buy a tractor with enough weight a power to operate it.

Since you're on less than one acre, a Kubota BX with front mount snow blower might be a good baseline with which to start your comparisons.

One of these would work nicely.

Front mount snow blowers aren't cheap. Plan on spending around $3k for the blower, front chassis mount, and extended PTO shaft to reach the mid PTO.

I would avoid the proprietary belt driven snow blowers found on some garden tractors. They have a tendency to go through belts pretty quick and they don't fit all tractors.

Good info on the belt driven. I didn't know there was such an animal! Thanks!

Hi, the only need is to clean snow, right? How many areas does the snow cover?

Is this to clean driveways in the suburbs, or 1/4 mile driveways in the country? Generally, you can have a front mount snowblower OR a loader, but not both at the same time, and changeover can be kind of a pain.

I just posted this link on another thread. Enjoy the statement at 13:00, "buy your second tractor first" LS XG3025 Compact Utility Tractor Review - YouTube don't be bashful about buying a bigger tractor. I started looking in the subcompact range and found myself looking at the compacts and won't look back. I have yet to buy but the day is nearing.
