Kubota BX23 TLB
Hi,
I am new here to the board. I am located in Phila PA. Can anyone point me in the right direction as who to deal with and what a Fair Price for this TLB with a 54" MM and grass catcher is. I do not think that any of the local dealers are doing much for me. Thank You in advance!

Paul,
Like you, I'm also looking at the BX23.
I got a price in Central MD of
BX23-$14,400
60"MMM- $2,200.00
I thought they were pretty good prices.

What part of Philadelphia are you located? If you are in the northeastern portion then you could consider Histands in Doylestown or even Pipersville Garden Center. They may be within a 45 minute commute for you. Both are good dealers. I have bought tractors from both and have had good service from both. Their prices are reasonable and fair. Histand's usually has a good selection of tractors parked out front. I was born and raised in center city Philly! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Bought my BX23 from Pipersville last year and paid about 15 K without any mower.

I'm in Delaware County. Try talking to Wes Levomian over at Cherry Valley Tractor Sales in Cherry Hill. His number is 856-983-0111. PLUS, I don't think there is any sales tax if they deliver outside of NJ. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thank for the input. I cannot get Histand's to quote me I have tried twice. I got a number from Pipersville and I think $15900.00 for TLB only is too much. Tried Cherry Valley & I would save sales tax but $$ almost the same as pipersville. Does anybody have any more suggestions? Thanks to all

As others have said on TBN, you still are obligated to pay sales tax if buying out of state. You may not go detected initially but run the risk of PA revenue Dept finding out about your purchase and sending you a bill at a later time. I am willing to pay somewhat more to have a relationship with a honest and reliable dealer. This may be invaluable if you ever need work on your tractor. I think PowerCo in NJ will charge you PA sales tax as they have another store in PA and have to report the purchase to the revenue dept of PA. Good luck in your search.

Paul,
I am in western PA near Pittsburgh. I bought a BX23 in March. I don't know why the dealers in PA are so much more than other places. My local dealer quoted $18400 for the BX23 and 60"MMM, before tax. The best I found at the other dealers around the area was $17,600. I went just into Ohio and got a price of $17,000 plus $100 to deliver (about 100 miles). If the local dealer could have gotten within a few hundred of this, I would have considered him, but $1400 is way too much. Some of the dealers I contacted were very willing to negotiate, others were firm in their price. Many wouldn't give prices over the phone for whatever their reasons. Find the best price you can, take it to the dealer you felt most comfortable with and see what he can do. Good luck.

Paul,

In Delaware County, PA, I was able to get a BX-23 for $14,000 plus tax. That was in September, 2004 so there was the 'end of season' factor. The Dealer was Wenner Equipment in West Chester. I didn't get a price on the mower deck as I keep a couple of lawn tractors for mowing (Don't ask me why I have a couple, we all have our own addictions).

Paul,

In addition to Histand's and Pipersville, you may want to try Mid-State equipment in Titusville, NJ. It's just north of Washington Crossing on rt. 29. I bought my FEL from there a couple years ago and they gave me the best deal of the three.

About the only way to avoid the sales tax is with a vendors license or if you have a farm exemption.
