Looking for info - 3 point log splitter

I'm actually thinking of making a simple trailer for my 3 point splitter, actually an axle with a tongue.

Why, you may ask? Because I have some old tractors without 3 points, and I think it would be fun to every once in a while, put one in front of my splitter to exercise it.

We had one of those years ago. It was convenient to hook it up to any farm tractor. It got passed around the neighborhood. You didn't have to worry about loaning it out because it was completely bulletproof.

That's basically what my trailer mounted splitter is.

You're probably also using about a third of the fuel on on your tractor than you would with a screamer engine.

It will just take 3x longer..so theres your "savings".

3x longer? Doesn't look that slow to me. The tractor is just barely above idle in the first video. 1200 RPM at most. On the second one, maybe 1500 or 1600 RPM as it looks like they're using the 540E PTO speed and that splitter doesn't seem to have a two speed valve like the first one.

My 3 point splitter has a 10 second cycle time and a 4 way wedge, I'll put it up against any generic cheapo splitter anytime! lol
