long 900

I'm thinking of getting a long 900. I know where one is at a good price.. The owner doesn't know if it is a 1000rpm pto.. or a 540 rpm pto. I'm planning on using it as a mower for a 8' or 10' mower.. and most of the ones I see in that range are 540 rpm.. plus I would want 540 so it could work with my other 540 rpm stuff.

Anyone have one, or had one can tell me. Unit will probably not be available for long.


Alternately I can get a case 1070 for just a bit more.. but also wonder about the pto..

Yes they can, ocassionally. Most of the one's I've seen have 18 and 21 splines, however.
They where the smaller series of Kubota, Landini, Iseiki, etc.
As a side note...they also spin backwards to what you and I consider normal rotation.
As long as the Mower blades are "double edged", the mower will cut just fine.
Doesn't work so well with a posthole digger .....
