nice setup
Tim,
While you've got the welder out, why don't you weld up some recycling containers...
That's a great idea. I love cider (1st pic) and have a lot of the right kind of apples. My splitter is a vertical splitter, shouldn't be too difficult to adapt. Would be extremely interested if someone developped the idea. Thanks for posting this J.J.
I bought a 3 pt hitch log splitter for my 4200 JD. this season and really love it. While splitting some fire wood I got to thinking, "I do that sometimes", how bout making a cider press to work off this thing. I have many apple trees and I really like cider so I just might build something this year. A log splitter has to have more than just one use, as you have shown us here. Any other ideas out there?

Jake 98,
The Pipe Bender is a great idea.
All you need are some used dies and your got it!
Thks
J_J, thks for starting this one !
It's the way the end of the rod and wedge is fixed to the beam that prevents the rod from bending under stress, that also limits what you can do. The center of the push is only a few inches off the beam, for pressing apples, grapes etc you would have to have an offset adapter to bring the "push" out away from the beam, and extended away from the end of the rod so you could get it in a barrel of some sort.
It should be doable, the offset plunger would not need to be able to withstand the full force of the cylinder as I don't think you would need 20-30 tons of force to press fruit ?

Chilly807,
Nice work.
Is the bead popper adj for all type tires, like large fat ATV tires, and smaller lawn tires?
