Log hauler

Lookin' to build a trailer like the one below(not the dump trailer). It would be used to work in my Sugarworks this spring. This would be used for hauling sugarwood size stuff, 4-10". I have a TC40d with Farmi winch for big stuff. Anyone have anything like this?

I built something very similar to that a couple of years ago. I ended up putting a box on the back to make it easier to carry other things. I made my trailer with tandem wheels on a walking beam suspension. It works great in the woods the tires climb over obstacles without rocking the trailer much at all.

The cargo are on mine is 8 feet long and the wheel track is the same as my Kubota L3000DT. It handles a half of cord of wood with ease. I figure it cost me less than $300.00 for materials.

A couple of weeks ago I loaded 3 cherry logs on to it that measured 16" at the small end and were 8 1/2 feet long. There are several options for adding mechanical loading devices. I am thinking about building another one with a hydraulic loader.

When the weather gets a little better I would like see that trailer. I live just down the road from you in Massachusetts at the north end of the Quabbin. We lived in Warwick when we were first married so we were practically neighbors.
