Thanks for the suggestion, but I had already given that some thought and couldn't see where I would gain.
If the cylinder is extended, to shorten it the oil needs to go to the shaft side of the piston to push the shaft in, pulling the bucket up.
Upside down or right side up the oil still needs to go to the shaft side of the piston to push it in, therefore surface area around the piston because of the shaft still remains the same.
If I'm looking at this all wrong please let me know.

Cylinders have a push/pull rating. The rod side being the pull which is always lower because it has less surface area. I have never seen a loader that didn't use the push(non rod end) to raise the loader or curl the bucket. Just because the cylinder is mounted upside down doesn't mean it is plumbed that way. Larger bore(diameter) cylinders have more surface area which means more push/pull force. You'd have to see if you can find cylinders that have the same retracted/extended lengths and make sure they have the correct ends for attachment. Then you still need to see if there will be enough room for them to fit. Good luck in finding some, try Surplus Center. Call them as they have many more cylinders than they list in their catalog or the web site.

Flipping the ram itself can't help, you still need to apply the pressure to the same place to make it retract or extend.
To use the larger side of the piston you would need to alter the loader mechanism to utilize the extension to curl the bucket.
Get some custom cylinders made to swap in, they can match port type and location and the end connections.
In Canada, Princess Auto will do this by mail order.

Before you go and change cylinders, check your pressure. If your DK is like the NH's that the guys have been checking, it could be off. It wouldn't take but a couple of hundred pounds of pressure short to make a pretty big difference. I bought a hydraulic gauge at TSC for only $20. )</font>

I must have missed this post somehow when I read through here earlier.
I have the same liquid filled hydraulic guage from TSC.
My pressure is good.( 2300 PSI)
My loader lift power is good, I'm sure it will lift the rated 1350#. It also easily lifts the front of the tractor off the ground at idle.
It is only the roll back that I'm not satisfied with.

If was mine, I would turn the pressure up 10% before I bought new cylinders. That would give you quite a bit of extra power and wouldn't over do things.

Before bumping it up 10% you better check to see what pressure rating your hoses are otherwise you'll be blowing out a lot of them.

Is your loader a self leveling loader ? My 1595 loader on my DK 55 really is awful for rollback. I have been logging the past couple of days and using the pallet forks for sorting on the landing. A larger log will uncurl the forks. The loader has the nut to lift it however. I believe the pressure relief valvle for the self leveling aspect of the loader are a monkey works. My dealer is trying to get me new loader that will rolll back a load that it can lift.
