Massey 1749
Have a Massey 1749 with 60 hours on it. Dealer is going to call tomorrow but would like to see if there is any help. Doing heavy loader work for three or so hours wide open and constant. Now the loader will not pick up or curl back unless it's wide open. At ideal there is no response to pick the loader up or curl down. Three point will not pick up either. Even under high idel it's slow and won't move any weight. Any thoughts. Dealer said to let it cool down over night and service would call in morning. Oil is full and just a few hours off fist fluid change. Hydro is working just fine. Frustrated as now I can't get tonight's work done.

How does the fluid look after trying to work? Is the pump sucking air?

Sounds like an oil/heat issue, maybe wrong type of oil in it.

my loader will do this in the heat of summer when I'm working the loader a lot... Seems like the fluid gets hot and thins out.. it's like the pump isn't picking up the fluid

Do the simple checks first. Oil level & all pertinent valves in the proper position.

Oil looks fine. Didn't unhook anything and all is tight as far as couplers. No oil leaks, cooled down and still no power or lift under idel. Guess they never break if your not needing them.

Other (remote?) possibilities: some contamination in the oil plugging lines, or, a remote in detent (so hydraulic bypassing/diverting flow all the time.

How much fluid did you put back into the tractor?

Which fluid did you use?

Did you change the filter?

Which filter did you use?

Did you bleed air out of the system after you changed the fluid?

Filter was new, permatran oil as recommended, changed per the book. Have eight hours of mostly loader work before this happened. Taking it to the dealer later today, there swamped as its hay season.

You may need to bleed the system, possible air inflation. Check the manual, it's easy
