I placed some lights on top of my ROPS of my NH TC33D, and they have worked great all winter. Well, we just had or first warm day in WI and I was out there at night and I had bugs flying all around my bald head - just enough hair to catch them. Has any used the yellow lens - halogen to prevent this?

Not tested it and it won't work.

The best way to keep from attracting bugs to your lights, and prob. the only way, is turn them off. Even that doesn't work all of the time. /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif I wonder if they make a 12v bug zapper. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

marty,

Not related to bugs....but....do you find that the vibration of the lights at the top of the rops is excessive?? I was planning on putting a set of aux. lights there but was concerned about them shaking too much and driving my eyeballs kooky ! Do you have a folding rops ??

Any info appreciated.

I have the same problem with my bald head cutting at night. What I did on my L3010 is put a set of fogs on the grill guard that gives me a real wide beam and then I have a set of driving lights on my rops. I just turn those on if I need to see farther or want to light up right around me with the light spillover. I then put a back work light on. All are wired seperatly with switch mounted on the fender. The grill lights are what I use most of the time and the bugs don't bother me.

I have my rear and front facing lights mounted on my ROPS. I have not seen any unusual vibration or light distortion. I would think that the frequency of the vibration is not that noticable.

Marty,
My job takes me around the country alot. When I was spending time in Pueblo, CO. (Desertville to those of us from the Great Lakes States) and I had an opportunity to go home, I told people that I was going home where it was green & lush (spelled "BUGS").

Here in the mid-west, a wave of the hand in front of your face to chase the bugs away is just a usual event. Light up the night and LOOK OUT
!

I love it where the plants grow out of control! Just a sign that GOD is actively taking your property back as we speak!
