I'm debating getting a small dump trailer for various purposes. It may not be something I keep forever, but I know these are pretty easy to resell. There is a place selling the Big Tex 70SR which is a 7k 5x10 model. Anything specific to look for in these? Any brands to favor or avoid?

Some might say I should go bigger to haul equipment, but I already have a 14k gooseneck flatbed for that purpose. This one would also be small enough to pull with our Tahoe (it has the tow package and brake controller), but I would normally pull it with my 3500 SRW or my 2500 beater.

I recommend at least a 12', 24" sides and 10 gauge floor/sides. I owned a 6'x10', it was dangerous, too short to place any weight on the hitch.

The 70SR has 16 gauge floor/sides and only 20" tall.

I bought that same Big Tex 70SR which is a 7k 5x10 trailer srveral years ago. I like it a lot. It is the perfect garbage and brush hauler.

I also got the tarp roll-on cover, spare tire and bolt on battery charger/maintainer.

What I like best about it is the width. It is about the same as my ¾ ton truck so it follows in the same path going down the road as the truck.

Try it, you'll like it. (y)
